Leading a Curriculum Area by:

- Being responsible for the promotion and development of a sense of community within the curriculum area that delivers high quality teaching and learning.
- Being responsible for strategic leadership of quality assurance processes. The Director should know the quality of the student learning experience in their area.
- Being responsible for examination results in this core curriculum subject area.
- Being responsible for the behaviour management strategy within the curriculum area which will be in line with the College’s own policy.
- Taking responsibility for `ownership’ of the curriculum area, and ensuring that displays for learning are refreshed and up to date.
- Having a watchful eye on student recruitment opportunities, coordinating curriculum approaches to the marketing
- Overseeing the trips and visits proposed within the curriculum area and making sure that they are part of the overall development plan, so trips are planned as part of the student experience.
- Overseeing all intervention strategies to raise attainment across both key stages of education.
- Utilising data intelligently to target under achievement, and to share that knowledge with the staff within the area.
- Ensuring that clear lines of line management and accountability are adhered to, with a strong ethos of support and challenge being fostered.
- Enabling the work area to one where risk taking, innovation and enjoyment of the learning journey are encouraged.

An exciting teaching role has arisen for a Secondary Music Teacher in Wiltshire. The teaching role is based in an SEN school is to start in January 2015 and is to run for a minimum of six months; and would suit a teacher with a good musical background.

The teaching role offers candidates a brilliant opportunity to gain further experience, with a view to potential future positions becoming available. The ideal candidate will have had 2 years’ worth of teaching experience, preferably in roles working with SEN pupils.
